Mental illness. It’s not something you are likely to gleefully discuss at your dinner table, but it is something that affects many more people than it may seem, either directly or indirectly. Believe it or not, according to the National Alliance on Mental Illness, one in 17 adults and one in 10 children live with a serious mental illness (NAMI). This finding- that mental illness can affect people of all ages- means that there are quite a few teens out there who are also bearing this silent curse. Pile on top of the ongoing suffering that these people the same age as us have to deal with, the constant mocking and name-calling that they face simply because they have an illness that isn’t their fault. Whether they are simply misunderstood or made fun of for being “psycho”, it is our responsibility to make sure that mental illness is acknowledged and that those of us who are suffering from it can get the help and support we deserve.

The goal of this site is to DECREASE THE STIGMA surrounding mental illness among teens. It doesn’t matter whether you are affected directly, indirectly, or are even new to the concept. There are relevant articles, stories, artwork, media, links to other resources…you name it-that you can get something out of.

This site is a campaign to eradicate the stigma of mental illness among teens…now and forever.
